About Me

Growing up in Mocksville North Carolina, a little blonde hair-blue eyed boy, listening to his mom & dad's albums of Elvis, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Eagles. Then add to the mix, Peter Frampton, Led Zeppelin....you get the picture. That was enough to reel me in to a world of music that I would never leave behind.  In the next several years I would spend countless hours bouncing around in front of the mirror, jumping from the sofa to the floor with my toy guitar singing at the top of my lungs.  By the time I was twelve years old and got my first real guitar and a few lessons that taught me the chords, it was on!  Then, as if I needed any further inspiration, my grandmother and I went to see every country music concert that came to the area.  She was a major Conway Twitty fan, so we were always there when he was in town.  Back then he toured with Loretta Lynn, and then there was George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, and of course, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.  How lucky was I to get to see all of these shows at such a young age?  We saw every major artist you can think of and it was an experience that I look back on and thank God for to this very day. Throughout the years I went on to play the rock and roll circuit, playing in cover bands and doing everything from classic rock to 80's metal to blues to.... well, you know the rest..  But my roots were always in country music and that's were I am proud to be at now in my life.  My songwriting takes me on a different journey every time I sit down and put pencil to paper...( yes, I still do it the old fashion way). I have a million stories to tell and I try hard everyday to pull them out of me!  Most of them are based on real life situations and the fond memories of growing up in the wonderful family I was blessed to grow up in, and then there is the song that has a little make believe, and the funny one that will make you laugh!  Never the less, they are all from the heart!  Just like playing in front of the mirror when I was a kid.  I love playing to a live audience, there is nothing like seeing the crowd singing your songs along with you, and it humbles me so that I just want to reach out and high-five every person there and thank them for being there!  We all know that without YOU there would be no US! I am currently playing over 150 shows a year from the Carolina's to Nashville Tennessee, where me and the band enjoy playing shows at Tootsies on Broadway, and I have the honor and privilege to now be a part of the Sunday Songwriters Night at The Bluebird Café !  I would like to thank the Nashville Songwriters Association International, (NSAI), for all they do for songwriters worldwide, from fighting for rights of musicians and songwriters to the great seminars they sponsor throughout the year that help guide us all in the right direction to being better writers, and a big shout out to the Bluebird Café for all the wonderful talent they feature day in and day out.  I hope you like the tunes and come on out and see a show! God bless you all !      TONY
